Roll Out The Perils ( Theme Song / Flash Video for the GOP)

Sun Oct 15, 2006 at 09:01:32 PM PDT

Being poor and unable to contribute much financially to the overthrow of the Republican Party on November 7th, I have done the only thing I know how to do beyond working phone banks. Which I have faithfully done, and will continue to do.

First, I should explain that I fancy myself to be something of a songwriter and am an occasional performer, but because most of my material around election time tends to get very topical (in my own mind urgent, even), it lacks the shelf life of heros like Woody Guthrie or Dylan.

Sadly, I lack their musical skills, too.

It occurred to me recently that the greatest favor I could do the Democratic Party might be to write and animate a Theme Song for the Republicans.

below are the lyrics

      Roll Out The Perils
It's the midterms!  It's the midterms!
And We've been misunderstood.
Things aren't looking real good
Lotsa folks don't feel good.
Our future is looking dismal
Poll numbers are abysmal
But Karl's dug out his plan
Let's all get in the swing!
Corporate Pals will want to please us
While our base  works that fear of Jesus
We can torture some logic today,
Maybe invade Iran, so far away
We can make sure voters live in dread
Of  the Terrorists under their bed
Find them some new immigrants to hate,
Rig the vote, enlist the Fourth Estate.

Roll Out The Perils
The House and Senate we must keep
Discount those Barrels
Big Oil, Give them their Gas CheaP!
You owe us Big Time!
We're here to instill the fear.
We are the Grand Old party
Mid Terms are here!

hope you enjoy!
